Safe To Feel
A gentle, trauma- and shame-informed one-to-one somatic process created to help you reconnect with your body at a pace that feels safe and sustainable.
How We Work Together
We work slowly and collaboratively, paying attention to what is happening in the body, what feels accessible, and what your nervous system has capacity for in the moment.
There is no pressure to force an emotion, reach a breakthrough, or tell a story before you are ready.
Our sessions may include body-based exploration, small or larger movements when these are available to you, getting in touch with different parts of yourself, noticing responses and patterns, or staying with an experience long enough to get to know it more fully.
We follow what emerges in the session, with space to explore what feels important and without pushing beyond what feels manageable.
Safe To Feel May Be For You, If:
Your relationship with your body has been challenged, interrupted, strained, or fundamentally changed by life.
Your body has changed and you're still finding your way in this new landscape or you're living in a body you no longer recognize at all.
You're moving through perimenopause, postpartum, recovery, chronic pain, fatigue, or another chapter that has left you feeling disconnected from the body you once knew.
You carry a sense of tension, pressure, or unease beneath everyday life.
Something in you longs for a different way of relating to yourself. A way that isn't built on fixing, forcing, or figuring everything out.
You are moving through one of life's deeper thresholds — grief, loss, heartbreak, caregiving, uncertainty, or a major transition that is asking you to feel more than you're used to feeling.
You feel disconnected from your body and your emotions, and you’re looking for a safer and gentler way back to them.
You've spent so much time managing symptoms, coping, pushing through, or worrying about your body that it no longer feels like a place of comfort or trust.
Part of you feels frustrated with your body. Or disappointed by it. Or afraid of what it might do next. Or you have started resenting your body, and feeling anxious about it.
Anxiety has become a constant companion, attaching itself to one concern after another, leaving your nervous system rarely feeling settled.

-Valerie, Sound Therapist, Belgium
Disconnection Makes Sense
Your relationship with your body may feel complicated.
You don’t always trust it. You feel frustrated with it, confused by it, frightened by what it might do next, or even betrayed by it. These feelings can be difficult to talk about, especially with other women, when so much of what we hear tells us that we should love our bodies, be grateful for them and trust their wisdom. Sometimes that is simply very far from where we are.
There are good reasons why our relationship with our body can become complicated.
Illness, surgery, medical care, changing bodies, caregiving, loss, difficult relationships and major life transitions can change the way we experience ourselves. When we are going through these things, there is usually a lot that needs our attention. We are trying to get through treatment, recover, make decisions, take care of our families, deal with practical realities, or just make it through the day.
We don’t always have the time, support or capacity to process everything we are experiencing while it is happening.
And even when life has moved on, some of what we lived through can remain with us - in how we feel, how we respond, and how we relate to our bodies.
The systems and cultures we live within shape our relationship with our bodies too.
As women, many of us learn early to tolerate discomfort, accommodate other people, question our own responses and push past our limits. Our pain or symptoms may not always be taken seriously, including in medical settings, and we can spend years being told what our bodies should look like, how they should behave, and what we should be able to cope with. When these messages are repeated throughout our lives, it can become genuinely difficult to know what we feel, what we need, where our limits are, and whether we can trust our own experience.
Safe to Feel is a place to become curious about that relationship again. You don’t need to arrive trusting your body, loving your body, or even feeling particularly comfortable in it. We can start with the relationship you have with it now.
Our Process

Trauma- and shame-informed somatic support.
A body-based, compassionate approach shaped around you and what you have capacity for.
Gentle practices or explorations between sessions when they feel supportive.
The sessions are designed to be taken regularly, ideally around once a week, so there is continuity between them. There is room for life, health, energy and circumstances to shape the rhythm when needed.
